These are the questions we are asked most often about private jet charter: how far ahead to book, what determines the price of each flight, how empty legs work, what you can take on board and what going through a private terminal is like. If yours is not here, message us on WhatsApp at +34 722 741 205 or from contact: we answer 24/7.
Booking a private flight
How far in advance do you need to book a private jet?
A private jet can be arranged at a few hours’ notice, subject to aircraft and crew availability. To secure the specific model that best suits the route we recommend 24-48 hours. On long-range routes or in high season — August in Ibiza or Palma de Mallorca, for instance — the useful margin is longer.
How do you request a quote?
Just give us the route, the date and the number of passengers in the quote form or by WhatsApp at +34 722 741 205. With those three details we can find the right aircraft and come back with a proposal in minutes. There is no commitment: the quote is free and states which aircraft we propose and why.
Can the date or time be changed after booking?
Yes, and it is one of the real differences from commercial aviation: the schedule is set by the passenger, not by a timetable. Changes are handled up until shortly before departure, subject to crew availability and airport slots. Each operation has its own conditions and they are set out in the proposal.
How many passengers fit in a private jet?
It depends on the category of aircraft: a Very Light Jet seats 4-5 passengers, a Light Jet between 6 and 7, a Mid-Size between 8 and 9, and Heavy Jets and Ultra Long Range reach 12-19. Bizliners, converted airliners, go beyond that. You can see the exact capacity of each model in the fleet.
What determines the price of a flight
What does the price of a private jet flight depend on?
The cost of a private flight is set by five factors: the distance and flight time, the category of aircraft, positioning (bringing the aircraft to the departure airport and taking it back afterwards), landing and handling fees at each airport, and waiting time if the aircraft stays at the destination. That is why two flights of the same duration can cost very different amounts.
Why is there no published rate?
Because there is no per-route price that would be true: the same journey changes in cost depending on which aircraft is available that day, where it is parked and whether it has to be repositioned. Publishing a fixed rate would mean inflating it to cover the worst case. We quote each flight against the real availability of the moment, which in practice works out better for the client.
Is it cheaper if the aircraft does not wait at the destination?
Usually yes. If the aircraft stays on the ground waiting for the return, that time is billed; if it can go off to another job and come back for you, the cost split changes. On same-day return trips it usually pays for the aircraft to wait; on long stays, almost never.
What does the price include?
A quote includes the aircraft with crew, fuel, handling and private terminal access at both ends, catering on board and baggage without the allowances of commercial aviation. What is not included — ground transport, special permits, off-menu catering — is itemised separately in the proposal.
Empty legs (repositioning flights)
What is an empty leg?
An empty leg is the sector an aircraft flies empty to return to its base or to go and pick up a client at another airport. Since the flight is going to happen anyway, that seat is offered at a fraction of the price of a full charter. It is exactly the same aircraft and the same crew as on a normal flight.
What are the drawbacks of flying an empty leg?
An empty leg is not chosen by the passenger: the route, the date and the time are already set by the operation that generates it, and it can be cancelled if the original flight changes. It is the right option when your schedule is flexible; if the trip has a fixed date and time, the sensible choice is a bespoke charter.
Where can I see the available empty legs?
Available repositioning flights are published live on the empty legs page, which updates directly with fleet availability. As they appear and disappear within hours, it is worth checking it on the same day you want to fly.
At the airport
What is a private terminal or FBO?
An FBO (Fixed Base Operator) is an airport’s business aviation terminal: a facility separate from the commercial terminal, with its own access, lounge and controls. From the car to the aircraft steps it takes minutes, not hours, because there are no check-in or boarding queues.
How early do you have to get to the airport?
15-20 minutes before departure is enough on a private flight, against the two or three hours of a commercial one. On international flights outside the Schengen area it is worth adding a margin for passport control.
Are there security and customs checks?
Yes. Private aviation meets the same legal security, customs and immigration requirements as commercial aviation; what changes is that they happen in the private terminal, for a handful of passengers and with no queue. On international flights the paperwork is filed in advance.
Can you fly to small airports?
Yes, and it is one of the main advantages: a private jet operates at many more airports than an airline, including regional airfields close to the final destination. The limit is set by runway length and aircraft category. You can check runway, codes and elevation for each one in the airports section.
On board
How much baggage can you take?
On a private flight there is no per-passenger allowance as there is on a commercial one: the limit is the volume of the hold and the maximum take-off weight of the aircraft. A Light Jet takes cabin bags and medium suitcases; from Mid-Size upwards there is room for skis, golf clubs or bulky equipment. It is worth flagging special baggage when you ask for a quote, because it can determine the model.
Can you travel with pets?
Yes, and they travel in the cabin with you, not in the hold. It is one of the most common reasons to fly privately with animals, because it avoids the stress and the risks of commercial transport. You need the health documentation for the destination country; we explain it under flights with pets.
Is there wifi and catering on board?
Catering is chosen before the flight and adapted to whatever the passenger asks for, with no fixed menu. Connectivity depends on the model: most mid-size and larger aircraft carry satellite wifi. If you need to work online during the flight, say so when you request the quote and we will propose an aircraft that guarantees it.
Companies, cargo and other services
Do you work with companies, teams and production crews?
Yes. Corporate charter is designed to move management teams, sports squads or film crews on their own schedule, visiting several cities in a single day. It can be booked flight by flight or as a recurring programme.
Do you transport cargo?
Yes. Cargo transport covers everything from urgent documents to bulky or sensitive freight, including destinations regular commercial cargo does not reach. It is planned with the right aircraft for the weight and volume of each shipment.
Do you operate outside Europe?
Yes. The network covers Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia, with dedicated pages for the cities and airports where we operate most often. You can see the full list under destinations and the specific connections under routes.
